Were can I sell my Diamond Bracelet?

How much could i sell these 2 3/4 carrat diamond rings for?

  • I have inherited 2 diamond rings from my late grandmother. I would like to keep them, but with times as they are, i feel that my grandmother would have preferred me to sell them on for some much needed money. I have no idea how much these rings are worth. I have a valuation paper from 28 years ago that values the first ring (diamond solitaire) and £1000. This was 28 years ago, so i am expecting that they might have crept up in value since. I have links to some pictures here. If anyone has any experience selling or buying diamond solitaire rings, please would you advise me how much i should sell them for tommorow in London? I am meeting with a jeweller who is very interested but i don't want to get cheated by him. http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w54/bassdemon89/DSCF0575.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w54/bassdemon89/DSCF0578.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w54/bassdemon89/DSCF0579.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w54/bassdemon89/DSCF0577.jpg Here is what i know about the first ring: Over 80 years old has a 3/4 carrat diamond has a 18 carrat gold band The other ring has a 1/2 carrat diamond 18 carrat smaller gold band also 80 years old Thanks in advance for any estimates. Edit: Can i please have an estimate for both rings together. I am selling them both in a few hours.

  • Answer:

It would depend on the clarity, brilliance and the colour of the diamonds. Go onto Ebay and have a look at comparable rings and diamonds.Or try Jeweller's websites. Some have a very good price chart for these things I mentioned. Don't rush into parting with them.As always, shop around for a good valuation. And don't try to clean them up.Let a jeweller do that for you, incase you damage or spoil them. There are plenty of people who would offer you the right price.Or there is always Ebay too where you can set the reserve price to reflect what the jeweller tells you they are worth. http://www.ninasjewellery.com.au/buying-diamonds.asp PS I am NOT a jewller.

First of all you need to know the Color, Clarity and Cut of the stone. Then I can give you an honest wholesale price. But these look to be best sold as Estate Pieces. You can try and memo them at your local jewelry mom and pop store as Estate pieces.
