How can I calculate past dividend?
-
I am doing an assignmet for a business class and the question is "If you invested 1,000 dollars in this company 5 years ago what would it be worth today and check for slpits. My company is Pepsico(PEP) and the current price is 71.22. 5 Years ago the price was 45.63. there hasn't been any splits. How would I even begin to go about this?

Answer:
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=PEP&a=08&b=30&c=2003&d=08&e=30&f=2008&g=v Go to yahoo quotes. Put in the ticker. Click the link for historical prices. Tag show dividends only. You may be able to export the data into a spreadsheet to save some time. =1000/45.63 =21.936 Shares Multiply 21.936 times all of the dividends in the link. You may be be supposed to reinvest the divs. So keep this in mind. I link below shows no splits.
