Whats the best gun in COD4?

The M-16 is generally considered to be the most overpowered weapon in the game. It will net you a one burst kill 2/3 of the time and has a short refractory period before the next burst. While not overpowered, the best sniper rifle is the Barret .50, the best SMG is the MP5, and the best LMG is... there is no best LMG, they are all worthless except for MAYBE the RPD.

M16A1 Sure, this gun would be almost a skill gun in mw2, but in cod4, where every other assault rifle had recoil and sway of some sort, this gun was hihly overpowered by comparison. The m16 had as much power as the ak47, but had zero sway, very low recoil, and fired in short controlled bursts, which in cod4, you pretty much have to fire that way for automatics too in long range. Also, in each burst, the m16 fired at 900 rpm, coupled with it's damage, this made it by far the fastest killing gun in the game.

W12100 -If you like Sniper Rifles M40A3 Barrett 50.cal+ sleight of hand because it takes to long to bring the scope to your eye.(if you like quick scoping)
