How does an r4 work?

My r4 card won't work. and i can't figure out what to do...?

  • I bought my r4 card used from a man on Craigslist so I was not the one to set it up, therefore I have no idea how it works. I only know how to take games off and put games on. This brings me to my problem. I was messing around with it one day and on the main screen to select games I selected this icon called "R4iTT_Updater.nds". It loaded for a second, and then it said something like "Deleting all data" or something like that. And being the Technology Impaired Duck that I am, I shut it off because I did not want all my data to be erased. I turned it back on and my 3DS would not read my r4 card. It was as if there was no cartridge in there at all. I then looked to see if any files on my Micro SD were gone and they weren't. I even tried using my friends r4 card with my SD card in it and it worked fine. This means that it is a problem with the card itself, and not a lack of files, right? If any of you know anything about r4 cards I would love some help

    There must be some files damage whlile you upgrade the r4 card. actually, the r4itt card can work on 3DS directly, no need to do any upgrade. You just backup the games to the computer, then format the SD card, and re-install the r4itt kernel. 1. Download latest R4iTT V2.31 kernel to computer. 2. Unzip the patch into some files. 3. Copy all files to the root directory of SD card. 4. Move games from computer to root of SD card. I think the problem can be fixed.

here is an idea i know it sounds crazy but it does work in stead of pussyfooting around with an r4 card and roms you can actually buy the games used instead fo stealing them i know it sounds crazy but it does work the games will actually work properly amazing right ?
