    first off dont use the "ad-hoc" mode, use the other one. to connect u have to be withen the range of a wireless acces point.

use the AD HOC mode and connect to the wireless network

Ad HOC in the network settings. after you click on that choose automatic then scan if you near a hotspot or someone in your neighborhood have a wireless network choose the one that say linksys or belkin after that save it then go to the internet on it then choose you r saved connecting then you are good to go!
