    Go to network settings and disable "Media server connection" [something like that] also go to your router settings and enable UpNp on the xmb screen. Also try to get a router and Ethernet cord. With direct connection it is automatic 100% and it automatically sets up once you choose it.

If its a Ps2 game, the reason is because you can't be signed in while playing Ps2 games. That's all. For Ps3 games, it might be that there's an update for the game that you decline to get. You can't play games online or while signed in if its not the latest version. Other than that I got nothing.
