Why do people think Nintendo is catered to kiddies & Say " Nintendo is for Kids & It has kiddie games"?

  • I don't Nintendo games aren't kiddy at all cause it has colour in their games & it's colourful that doesn't mean for kids that be say Disney & Pixar & Dreamworks is for kids cause they make rated PG Movies but it's more aimed at kids & the Whole Family not just the kids cause you think blood & Gore makes you hardcore & Mature it doesn't cause you don't appreciate of what a game or movie is & I'm getting sick of the whole " Nintendo is Kiddy " ******** cause they aren't kiddy cause have you heard the old saying " Don't judge a book by it's cover " same thing goes for games & Movies & even books as well . You know what makes hardcore & Mature is appreciating of what game & Movies is no matter what age u are to enjoy things u like & people that say ur too old to play Nintendo Games & seeing a Disney & Pixar Movie but ur not too old for those that those that say that aren't mature enough that Nintendo , Disney & Pixar , & DreamWorks studio makes stuff for everybody not just kids.

i'm pretty sure wii carnival games, raving rabbits, and wii sports resort don't cater to the more hardcore crowd. the wii has had some more serious games, but they sell terribly, one example being sega's "madworld." some people were actually angry that it came out for the wii. the reason? because the wii's CATERED TOWARDS THE CASUAL AUDIENCE. you know what else is mature? respecting others' opinions, including those that don't agree with you.

Well they do have a lot of childish and family games. And they do try to censor violent and religious stuff. But I don't care. I love kiddie games! :3 Link is quite interesting, READ IT PLEASE EXPLAINS A WHOLE LOT ABOUT NINTENDO's CENSORSHIP RULES!!!!

older nintendo consoles where definatlety not aimed directly at young kids more for everyone, i,e nes snes and even n64 but but the wii seem to have alot more child based games than any other nintendo to date, its taken them a few years but they are finaly starting to bring out more games aimed at older people,

1. Major motion pictures have nothing to do with a video game discussion since films are a better form of entertainment than video games. 2. I think Nintendo has been referred to as "kiddie" because of the overwhelming group who buy their products such as older folks, casual gamers, and relatively young people. "Hardcore" gamers are the one's playing mature games such as BF3, which no Nintendo system can run. Because of this, the games from Nintendo are not as technically challenging and so you get simpler games that are easier to understand and not as serious as other consoles.

I don't dislike the Wii because it's "childish" or because I'm biased against Nintendo (I love the SNES), I dislike it because it doesn't have a lot of good replay-able games and the graphics are rubbish.
