How do i connect my Nintendo DS Lite to the Internet?

If I get the Nintendo DS Lite Internet Add-on, will I be able to connect on Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver?

  • I want to be able to register for a Friend Code, battle against friends etc. I have a Nintendo DS Lite not a DSi, so if I bought the 30$ Internet extension would I be able to play normally? Thanks.

    NO YOU WOULD NOT, unless your talking about what I'm about to tell you which I don't think you are. You still connect to the internet using Nintendo wifi connection, so getting internet won't do you any good. You need to go to walmart/gamestop/where you got your D.S. and buy a "Nintendo Wifi USB Connector". It plugs into your computer in a USB port, (Same one where you plug your mouse in), as long as you have internet connection (which you obviously do) just follow the instructions and your good to go. It sells for around $40, but for pokemon its definitely worth it in my opinion. The wifi will also work for your Wii if you have one.

As mekkah has stated, the Nintendo DS lite already has WI-Fi connectivity. Buying the internet add on is just buying a browser and would help at al for pokemon. If you have a WI-Fi network in your house (wireless network, WLAN, etc. whatever you call it) You shouldn't have to buy anything. When you turn on pokemon and it gives you the options to continue, start a new game etc., there should be a "configure WI-Fi settings" box and you want to select that. (this is only if you have a WI-Fi network, otherwise, do what mekkah has said and buy a dongle.) You should have options to set up a network and to search for a network. You want to search, find your wi-fi network and then type in your encryption key (WEP key) and bob's your uncle bing bong bash connection test bop done. - An avid Nintendo DS and pokemon fan. Always happy to help a pokemon fan.
