What can i get for my laptop?

What can I get to make Sims 2 work better on my laptop?

  • Okay, so, When I try to create a family, I can get through making one sim, but when I try to make a second, it freezes, and I have to ctrl/alt/delete the game, just to see task manager says its not responding. Then I have t close it out. I cannot make families, and the game crashes randomly during loading screens. My friend told she got something for her laptop and it made it run perfectly. What can I get to make the game run perfectly for my laptop?

  • Answer:

I would try a new graphics card or more memory even replace the speakers in it. the graphics card will help the game run faster and look better. more memory will help save a lot more houses and other family's like you said in sims 2. would know about this myself i had the same problem on my PC at home.I hope this helps and if not then just contact me for more info.

If your on a laptop, the most you can do is add more RAM. But if you are not willing, then I suggest you reduce the resolution the SIMS 2 runs at. Reduce it to something like 800x600 (or your widescreen equivalent). If this still doesn't help, then try reducing the level of graphics being used by the game from its settings menu. I hope this helps ;)

Sounds like you don't have enough memory. Try and delete some unwanted files or pictures that you don't need any more. This will clear up some space and the game should run better

Bettert graphics, More memory, Better processor, if you could find out the spec of your laptop and tell us thatd be a great help and i could tell you exactly what you need.

Same thing happens to my laptop. The Sims is a HUGE program. The only way would be to get more Ram... Other then that I would say just give it up and play it on a PC....sorry. That game is hella addictive!

I know what's wrong. This happened to my friend, And you simply don't have enough Memory/RAM on your computer. Sims 2 is a powerful game and takes up a lot of RAM. You can get some at bestbuy, put it into your computer, then it should work fine (: Oh and by the way, Do you have custom content on it? That could be another reason why it's slow.

maybe you should close all the non-essential programs before running the game, then turn all the settings to minimum, and then try, it probably crashes because your laptop hasnt got enough memory to run the game
