My gamecube won't play any discs.

Gamecube has disc read errors?

  • I bought a gamecube from amazon.com refurbished and unfortunately had to get a refund, it only plays certain games!! I put in Soul Calibur II it worked fine and I also play Skies of Arcadia that works fine but then when I put in games such as Super Mario Sunshine and Baten Kaitos it doesn't work at all!! It wont read the discs and it gets a disc read error, is there any way to fix this or am I better off buying another one but from a more trust worthy place such as Gamestop?

    It's possible the discs actually ARE dirty or damaged, but assuming they aren't, you should definitely go to a reliable source. Although the one you used seems pretty good if they gave you a full refund. It would probably be easier if you just let them give you another one and make sure those discs are okay.

Lol ! Buy an XBOX!? Does this guy mean the XBOX 360 that broke down once every month? Anyways, check the disk if it is scratched, if it is, you will need to buy a new copy. But after a while, the GameCube will get disk read errors. Make sure the lens is clean, (TOUCHING THE LENS WILL BREAK IT) Use a a soft cloth and lightly tap it. If you tap it to hard, it will break. If that doesn't work, you will need to buy a new one at EB Games or GameStop. Preferable not used. -Wiiplay_ds

Make sure the discs don't have any scratches on them. This is usually the reason why it gets errors.

Sorry to say, but the most years out of your GambeCube would be 9 years. And Xbox doesn't even last 1 year. I'd say that your GameCube console is as old as 100 years old in people age. I think you most likely have no choice, but to either buy a new console or try to go to your nearest GameStop and get more help from there.
