Pros and cons of Guitar Hero and Rockband?
-
I have been offered some cheap guitar hero stuff (2 guitar Hero Guitars) and I just wanted to know how does Guitar Hero Compare to Rockband. Because if I get these guitars I will buy a drum kit from either Rockband OR Guitar Hero, so I can play Wold tour/ Rock band. What is better Guitar Hero or Rockband? Also can you use Rockband stuff for Guitar hero games and vics versa?

Answer:
rock band does have alot more songs..... but guitar hero in my opinion has better songs. the guitar hero guitars will work on rock band though, but not vise versa.

This all depends on what you are looking for. First what system are these controllers for? The PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers should be compatible with Rock Band and Guitar Hero but the Wii and PS2 ones are not. As for the games themselves it all depends on what you like. I like guitar hero because of the way the notes look. I prefer the round notes of GH to the lines of RB. If you don't have the internet than it's just a matter of what songs you prefer because both games have several songs by the same artists. If you like a lot of downloads then you may want to go with rock band because it has a ton more (except on the wii). Guitar hero has a cooler drumset i think and (if you're a metalhead like me) you can also look at Guitar Hero: Metallica for some great fun. All in all they both generally play the same and all you can do is see which songs you like more. So here's a final sum up of the Pros and cons. Guitar Hero Pros Several games to choose from More advanced (and more quiet) drums Cool extras (Metallica especially) Song creation tools (thousands of user made songs) Guitar Hero Cons Small downloadable content amounts Songs do not transfer Some odd picks for songs Rock Band Pros Rock Band 2 can take songs from 1 and have a huge selection Tons of downloadable content Extremely varied playlist Rock Band Cons Guitar controllers are a little unresponsive and clicky I personally don't like the drum controllers or guitars (I don't own Rock Band but I tried to give a fair look at this) If you want to see the song lists, check the wikipedia pages for more details.
Maybe you should try out Guitar Hero and Rockband and see which one you perfer because our opinion may vary to yours. The Hero is in you. :D
i have rockband and gh3. i prefer gh3 because the guitar feels so much better and more realistic. also i thinnk the songs are better on gh3. the only good point about rockband is the graphics are more defined.
I had both, straight up man, rock band sucks *** Guitar hero has SUCH a nicer drumset, its so much better, the guitars are SO MUCH easier to use, and the notes are easier to read. I dont even know why I have rock band, i think I should sell it. Guitar hero all the way man, you can even download songs others have made, and make your own. Rock band 2's drums are the same as rock band 1. AND the games pretty much just as sucky
Depending on what system they're for, either one would be a fine choice. Guitar Hero's 1-2 is better if your playing alone or with a friend, but Rock Band 1&2 and GH World Tour is WAY better with 3 or more people (plus mic and drums). And, if your using the 360 (I don't know about other systems), the instruments work with both games. The only thing that really sets them apart is which track list you prefer. Plus, Rock Band has a HUGE amount of downloadable songs, with GH with a comparable songs but not nearly as large of a library. Hope this helps.
Well, personally, I like Guitar Hero better... but that's really just because it generally has better songs (or at least ones that are more my taste).
