Question about Sims 2 installation.

Sims 2 pets wont start installing?

  • I know theres been lots of issues with the installation stopping at a certain percent, but this isnt that. I just installed Sims 2 on my PC. I had it on my old PC but it died so I bought a new laptop. Sims 2 installed fine, no problems, and runs fine. But when I try to install the Pets expansion pack, I insert the disk and literally nothing happens Normally I get a pop up option asking me what I want to do and I click 'run.exe' but it doesnt come up, I go into my computer --> removable disks and try to open it manually but it doesnt load. This is a screenshot of My Computer. The icon for the sims doesnt even show up -- http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/4360/sims2pets.png Anyone have any idea what may be causing this problem, and how to fix it? If it helps, Im running windows 7 on a Samsung RV511. As u can see, memory isnt an issue, as I have plenty left (brand new laptop). Disc is scratched, but only very lightly. Everyday wear and tear. Nothing major that would cause the disc to be unable to read. And as I said, I just installed Sims 2 moments before with no issues, so my CD drive is working fine. If u need any other information, either message me or ask in ur answer and I will update this question pretty fast with my response =)) Thanks guys~ PS - Clicking any of the options (seen on the screenshot) does nothing. Clicking auto play makes My Computer stop responding and close.

  • Answer:

Try running the CD on some other pc if it doesnt work on other pc too. Then rightclick the cd drive and select open or explore. Then copy the contents to another folder and use nero to make image file and mount that image file using daemon tools (image mounting software ) If you experience some other problems just contact me by mail
