For those fans of hidden object games: what is it that you like the most about them?

Hi! I've been addicted to HOG for a while now and I would like to know to all of you HOG players, what do you expect out of a game of this nature? other than obviously fun haha Challenge? To learn stuff? A cool story? (do you read comics or illustrations in this games?) Anything will help, I might start my own HOG someday and I'd like to know what makes a good HOG :) thanks!

I used to love them because it was an interesting and unique challenge, but then all those prank games came out with the screaming face thing. I don't trust any of them now because I always expect to be annoyed by a prank.
