Rock Band or Guitar Hero?

Rock Band personally. Not only is the music genre on the game varied and split between mainstream artists to obscure indie bands, but Rock Band totally defeats Guitar Hero games due to the fact that the range of DLC is incredible. Harmonix never fail to release dlc on time every week whereas Activision, Red Octane do not meet the deadline most of the time. I have been a Guitar Hero fan since 2 through to WT but Rock Band wins me over every time by actually presenting the gameplay and charting system so beautifully. Rock Band every time.

Guitar Hero! It has way better songs than Rock band. Guitar Hero 3 Legends of rock has some really good songs!

Rock Band, more music, and you can play with friends, so, think about it.

Guitar Hero Metallica was the best.

personally i like rock band better. but, on the rock band series you can't make songs like you can on guitar hero 4. rock band's chart are much more.... thought out and make more sense whereas the guitar hero ones aren't. guitar hero 4 has mii freestyle too which is fun. although rock band 2 has drum freestyle. i like guitar hero 4 drumset but i don't like it's kick peddle.

Rock band definitly. Rock band 2 has over 500 songs! Where as Guitar Hero only has the GH Tunes.

I'd say Rock Band. Plus the equipment is a lot cheaper now, you can get the Rock Band "Band in a Box" set for £35 now from places.

Depends what you like more: Rock Band has the Create your own Band feature, where you can design your character, purchase guitars, and guide your band. More of a story mode basically. Guitar Hero is more about the playability, pushing your skills to the limit and trying to be the master. So if you're getting it just to play by yourself, get guitar hero, if you plan on playing with a bunch of friends, just get rock band. I personally did not like rock band, The songs were good, but I hated the guitar and the feedback from the game in general. It felt very awkward.
