    no the hard drive isn't powerful enough so you'd have to do alot of up dating and i don't think it is really worth it its probably just easier to buy a ps1 game

I know, i've been wondering that also, but actually, you can play SOME playstation 2 games on the PS1, but they have to be from when the PS2 first came out, so really old games...but it won't work for the first generation playstaion, you know, the really really old one. But ya, hope that helps a little...
