Does the WoW Account Upgrade work like this?

Hi, Currently I have a World of Warcraft: Wraith of the Litch King trial account which ends on September 14th 2009 (Tomorrow) and I am wondering if I have the Account upgrade worked out for when the trial ends. I already have the full Wraith of the Litch King game installed so I will buy the Wraith of the Litch King CD from EB Games and use the CD key to upgrade my trial account to a full account via the Account Management section of the World of Warcraft website. I think that is what I need to do but someone else told me that I need to buy the original WoW game and upgrade it with that CD key, then buy the Burning Crusade expansion and upgrade it again with that CD Key and finally buy Wraith of the Litch King and use the CD key that comes with that to upgrade it for the last time and then I have the full game costing me a total of $120. So how does it actually work. Please tell me if you know. Thanks, Brad.
