Runescape is a great game that you can do everything from quests to fight 3 headed dragons. its a great game.

i love maple story 2 but other good ones are gunbound gunz and metl of honor

Neverwinter Nights is a great game, it has two expansions along with the original game (retails for about $20-30) with a great linear story line. However if you dont want to quest by yourself, the game allows you to go online with the content. It also allows you to created modules and custom material using the same tools that the creaters of the game used. If you want something newer tho, guild wars is an incredibly beutiful game, and altho its an MMORPG, it doesnt have a monthly service fee.
