Xbox 360 slim 250gb cant read the disk when online.?

My xbox 360 slim is nearly brand new and has been working fine. The other day i was on fifa 12 just about to start a match when the disk error page popped up and returned me to the dashboard but when playing offline it is fine. It has also happened on my mw3 it has been knocked a couple of times. anyone know what could have happened?
