Can you put music on the DSi?

Does the Nintendo DSI double as an MP3player?

  • Well, I'm finally upgrading to the DS, maybe DSI.(can no longer resist the desire to play the newer Pokemon games) I've heard that the DSi plays music, so can you upload music to it just like an MP3Player; and can you put the music on a memory card so that its not taking up space on the console? If so...it may be worth it since it wont play GBA games(i sold my new MP3p to get some money for it) =D

    It can play music from a memory card, but note that it has to be in AAC format - MP3 will NOT play.

like the first guy said, it only plays AAC files because 1) they are small than mp3 2) are of less quality, hence the file size. the speakers aren't great on the DSi and not ideal for music, although you do get conversion software with the DSi.

Not really MP3, but you can store and play music on DSi. You can download a program to convert your music to AAC so its DSi playable and vice versa. Uh yes its stored on my memory card the music. AAC audio is similar quality to MP3 audio.
