How To Be Good At Defense On Madden?

I am awful on defense in madden 12............please help!?

  • so i like whenever im in pass defense, i like to run a cover 2. where i get coverage in the flats and over the middle and deep. than i get destroyed on draw plays. or delayed running plays. is their a way i can defend this. what d should i run if i want to stop the run, i often do zone blitz than get killed on pa, or the deep ball. and i suck at getting interceptions also

    I see you like to do zones. Zones are good but can easily be beat by a guy with good route running and a smart QB. What type of playbook are you using 3-4 or 4-3? I recommend 4-3. You can keep doing your little cover 2 but what you are gonna do is you are gonna hot route your dline to pinch and your linebackers to spread. This makes it harder to find holes to run through because linebackers are in the sides and dline in middle. I would also show blitz every once in a while. If you dont know how to hot route you can access it by pressing the d-pad. If it takes you a while to do these things you are gonna get faster eventually. I can do all of these in less than a second. I would also recommend sorting by formation so there arent linebackers covering receivers or cornerbacks covering big tightends.
