Slim PSP 3.8 official firmware to custom firmware? possible?

i have my slim PSP with 3.80 official firmware and after spending more than 70 $ for 2 PSP dics, i think i need to change my PSP official firmware to custom firmware so my PSP can play game on memmory stick, duel to my financal problems. So the think is that i need to have pandora (fat)battery ( can it use for my slim PSP?) and i heard that i need to downgrade my PSP to 3.6 or 3.7 to able to use pandora battery? please help, i am considering buying a pandora battery with no clue about it!

it's best to have someone with a phat (older) psp with custom firmware already installed to make the pandora batt and mem stick, then use those to customize yours. then they just revert their batt and mem stick to original and voila! you should search google for "pandora easy gui" that's what your friend with the phat psp should use to make the temporary pandora batt and mem stick. do some research. you'll figure it out. bes of luck

Just an FYI, dont do Homebrew. If it bricks your PSP, Sony will find that out and wont replace it or fix it for you. 2. Sony is about to release a firmware with PSP Messenger, PSP Store, 'Home, and Official Apps for PSP.
