How do i connect WIFI animal crossings wild world for nintendo DS?

how do i connect animal crossings wild world for nintendo DS to my laptop i have a wirelless router and every time i click search for access point which i think you have to click to use the WIFI thing it always says the access point's security settings are not supported by nintendo DS. for help,visit www.nintendo.com i think the wireless router is locked for WIFI on the d-link box it says it's WIFI certified which i dont even know what that means please tell me what i have to do. please help!!!
