How do i clean my psp's analog stick?

The analog stick on psp go is not working, what can I do?

• today I was trying to clean out the analog stick on my psp with water because it seemed stiff and dirty. I put a drop of water in it, moved around the stick, and then dried it with a cotton swab. I did this a couple times. Later I turned on my psp and the analog stick doesn't work anymore. It registers up and to the left regardless of what you do to the physical stick. what can I do? Is there anyway to fix this? I bought the psp refurbished from a gamestop so I don't think that there is any sort of warranty/return. Please help me.
