How to make tissue paper flowers?

Make grass with tissue paper?

  • I want to make a diorama-like model with grass using green tissue paper on a flat bristol board surface. Does anyone have any ideas on how I should make it? Should I cut out little blade pieces here and there or is there something else I could do? Or if not tissue paper, is there some other way I can make decent looking grass using paper materials?

  • Answer:

Hmm, what I would try is using green tissue paper, and scrunching it up and messily ripping and tearing it, Then, in a small cup, mix half water and half liquid glue together making a thin pasty substance. Using a paint brush, apply the tissue paper pieces onto the board, and paint it on with the glue substance. But make sure not to flatten out the tissue paper. The more texture, the better. (It'll look more realistic)

Cut strips of the tissue paper and cut fringe on one side of it. Make your cuts about 1/16" (or about 1.5mm) apart, and about halfway through your strips. Fold each of the strips in half lengthwise. Glue the uncut side to your board, and overlap the strips so the fringed parts are really close together. Run your fingers through it after it is dry so you can fluff it up.

Maybe you should shred it to make it look like grass. Like make it look like Little blades of grass.
