You can stick memorabilia in them. Like from a special vacation, or a note from a friend. I basically save anything from friends, vacations, outings, etc. I keep movie ticket stubs, brochures, stickers, everything. Just have fun and save the memories. One day you'll look back on them and have a huge moment of sentimentality :)

I like to use scrap book paper to cover things. for example a plain wooden picture frame... you just cut the paper to fit the size of the frame, and decoupage it on. If you don't know what decoupage is, it is basically glue. I usually paint a layer onto the back of the paper, and another layer over the entire surface of what i am covering after the paper is glued. You can also do this with old shelves or cupboards. A friend of mine covered dresser drawers and it looks awesome!
