What is the best CO2 to use for airsoft pistol?

• I recently purchased an HK brand USP co2 powered airsoft pistol for around $50. I unboxed it and it came with instructions, a loosening tool, and some airsoft bbs. It has a metal barrel, holds 16 rounds, internal hop-up, 6mm bbs, and 360fps. My brother let me have a brand new 12g co2 cartridge, so i took out the plastic mag, unscrewed the bottom, put in the co2 and forgot to loosen it quick. It like poured out into my room and some on me but we screwed it tight 3 minutes later (i ran). I loaded bbs and it worked okay, and shot about 3 mags worth and put it up. A week later, i shot it and it hardly worked then stopped completely. Are you supposed to use the whole co2 quick and it runs out sitting, or was it almost out anyway? And, how can i install my next co2 properly. Any tips are appreciated!

  The key to install CO2 is speed, every gun leaks C02 overtime and if you let it sit over a long period of time you will lose CO2. Tighten it the best you can, but if you are going through a whole box of CO2 cartridges then dont bother putting more in and try and take it back because it might be defective
