Flying with a swollen inner ear?

Problems with Ear Clogging.After flying?

  • I am looking for a natural way to help me with my ear problem. I have been to medical doctor for this they recommend ear drops that do nothing to help me. I have had this before; I hate to fly now but I love to travel. It is annoying and effects my hearing too. I am out of the plane and home for a few weeks.and I have a clogged ear on one side. Chewing gum and yawning is great when your on the phone. This is not fun and very annoying. Has anyone really had this problem too.I called my medical insurance company they said keep warm compress on my ear. I did this if several days and it does nothing.

    Get some Olbas Oil (menthol oil) and put a few drops (3 or 4 is enough) into a cup of boiling water and inhale the steam - I have really bad ears when flying and find this really helps to ease the congestion (I have no idea why this works!) Forgot to add you can get Olbas Oil in any chemist or supermarket in the UK, I don't know about the US but there is also something called Vaporub or Mentholatum (menthol in an oily rub that you can melt in boiling water) from pharmacies or oil of menthol from herbalists
