Answer:
Listen to them, first and foremost! Think before answering any questions from a customer and answer in a well thought out response. Be respectful and courteous. Basically treat every customer as you want to be treated as a customer.

When I worked in customer service, my employer's motto was: "The customer is always right." I believe you should be polite and courteous...be attentive to their needs/expectations.

Listen carefully to their requests and be prepared to handle all of their needs. If you don't know or aren't sure of the answer, let the customer know that you intend to find the solution and then make sure you follow through on it. Customers don't like to hear no and can't especially if you've not even made an effort.
Making the customer needs come first, and customer satisfaction. If a customer has paid for a service, it's up to the business to deliver that service in a timely and professional manner. A happy customer will spread the word and thus, more business.
Smile! No matter what, smile. If they are rude to you, smile. If they are mean to you, smile. You can be as sarcastic as you like, but if you're smiling, what can they do?
You have to listen carefully and answer the question correctly..
PATIENCE! Hands down. Be patient. You need to be able to handle the customer without getting upset or bothered. You need to be able to handle the most ridiculous of requests without losing it. Clarity also helps - you need to be able to explain yourself, properly. Listening - learn to listen and wait until the customer is finished talking before you answer Smile!
