How to write letter for Internship/ Project Sponsorship ?

The letter sounds fine. The three "I am..." is not awkward because you are stating facts about yourself for his information. I don't know how you would do that another way. If you would like proofing and editing, here is what I would change, Dear Sir, I am XYX and currently a student in my final year of computer engineering. I am looking for a project sponsorship and/or part-time internship in the software field. In reference to your conversation with ABC, I have attached my CV for your review. Please call or write if you have any questions. Thank you for considering me for your company. Best Regards, XYZ

since it is one of the formal letters the look of your letter should also be formal. make use of formal greetings. make use of the block type (wherein every start of the line is all left aligned). and address it specifically to the person you want to read your letter especially when you know his/her name. here is a sample. hope it will help you! Date (But if you address it to a company date should be below) Name of the Company(or person) (Her/His official designation in the company) Address To whom it may concern (or the Dear Ma'am/ Sir): Greetings! I am,(your name), a college student (or high school whichever is appropriate) in (state your school). This coming summer i would like to pursue a summer program to be held at (state the place, if possible the complete address) with the theme, (state the theme). The program would (state the purpose and lastly your own purpose in joining the program). I am writing to you to ask for your benevolence in helping me out and be able to join the program since it will greatly affect and benefit the community (or whatever is the purpose of the program.)
