How apply for stop and shop?

How do I stop store employees from harassing me when I am trying to shop in peace?

  • Every store I go into it's "Can I help you?" "Can I help you find something?" If I need help I think I know how to ask for it. I am being singled out and I am annoyed as sh*t. One employee actually told me he approached me because I looked confused while shopping for PENS (a**hole). How do I make it stop? Should I talk to the manager? What's a good response to get them to leave me alone?

  • Answer:

Just say "No thank you, I am just browsing" and let them be. It is their job to say that to you.

They don't single you out, they are required to ask you. Simply say "no thank you I'm just browsing" and walk away. It's their job.

I work at a popular retail store and I can tell you that is my our job to ask if you need help. If you become a regular costumer, when don't ask you as often because we know that you don't need help. But sometimes, if the managers notices that we don't offer help, he or she will get our attention. You can talk to the manager and let her to that you being ask to many times. That way you don't get anyone on trouble. I personally don't offer help to any pretty ladies. Because that's excatly what they think. They feel they are being harrass or something (I mean, you are not that pretty and we do have our own gf's). Bottome line, just tell the employers that you are okay and that you will ask for help if you need it.. Problem solve!

look at them and politely say, "i know exactly what im looking for" . it works every time for me.

They're not singling you out or harassing you. Many places they work on commission and/or they get in trouble if they *don't* offer to help you. It's a far bigger complaint that people go into stores and need help with things and no one is to be found. That's how customers are truly lost. Just expect it and know it's normal, and be ready to say a simple no thanks, just browsing, or thanks, maybe in a minute, I'll let you know. The only times you might be more likely to be singled out are if you're really young and/or wearing something like a backpack where they suspect you might be shoplifting, so they're more likely to keep an eye on you. In which case, just understand it and respond the same way. And no, if you talk to a manager it's not going to do anything. Perfectly normal part of a store, but most will go away when you just say no thanks, I'm fine. They're just doing their job.

They are actually required to ask you because if a manager sees them not ask you they will get in trouble. I understand where you are coming from though, it annoys the crap out of me as well. I usually just say "No I got it" or if Im in a bad mood, I just ignore them and they tend to go away. Or you could try "No habla english" that might work lol.
