How to write an invitation letter?

How to write a death grief invitation letter?

  • Answer:

I would just send it out saying it is an announcement that there will be a "wake" or memorial service for (her name) on date and time and they are welcome to attend. Call it a wake or memorial service and not a death grief ceremony. Here is how you should write it: To whom it may concern or Dear extended family and friends, I regret to inform you that (Name) passed away on January 16, 2012. This letter has been sent to you to announce there will be a memorial service for HER NAME on DATE at location and time and you are welcome to attend.( Also leave your contact number or the contact number and website of the funeral home or location where the memorial service is being held in case someone needs directions or has questions. You can also list in this letter if flowers are welcome) Sincerely, Your name or your family's name example: "The Smith family"

You don't traditionally invite people to a funeral or memorial service; they are usually open to anyone who knew the deceased. Write a simple letter letting people know your grandmother died, and giving them the date and location of the ceremony. Something like, "I wanted to let you know Grandma passed away on January 16 (with details about her final days if you like). There will be a service at ___ on ___date..."

what I did when my brother passed is i drew a circle with is name in it then i drew other circles surrounding the circle with his name in it with a sentence or two about a topic about him in each circle like one circle was about his career, another himself as a person, another about his family another his education, still others things that i remembered at him another and i let it branch out like a family tree of sorts, then i copied all these rough draft sentences down on a different piece of paper and read it at his funeral
