How can i make my dream job a reality?how can i breakinto the fashion industry and land this job i want?

  • hi everyone~thanks so much in advance~i would like to know how to go about getting into the fashion industry, eventually i would like to set up my own line of clothes and shoes i have the vision but cant draw so i cant illustrate it on paper. i have a great eye for fashion/shopping and am very creative, however my situation limits me from taking courses,my parents are ill and i have been taking care of them for years now so i have no previous courses or work expierence so i have nothing to back up on a resume, and the little i do have i dont want people feeling sorry for me the responce i usually get is oh thats so tuff maybe thisisnt the rite time for you why dont you do some courses and get expierence, but i cant do that and this usually sets me back,i try and i get shot down,i now feel like life has passes me by im 30 now,but i want to give my dream another try. There is this local model agency i have always wanted to work with and have asked them many times but i havent much for my resume theres a gap of like 10 years and they want someone with expierence and college backround, but how can i show i have what it takes?i have offered and assist for free but never het anywhere, how can i approach this properly or differently?i love all aspects, like fashion styling, makeup although im not qulaified, planning for fashion shows and events, photography, but cannot take courses for all of theese as i am limited and financially limited too,but this is my passion and i am goos at it ,how can i stand out from the rest and get a chance? i have gotton no where in the past and kept giving up but i really want to make this a success for myself as i have been house bound for soo long i want to start living my life any advice, thoughts, input soo greatly appreciated thanks you so much~

Dear Maria, For every dream ... there will be obstacles. And to start ... means you have to start from the bottom. To be a success in the fashion industry will take time ... in fact it is a slow one before you can make a name for yourself. You will have a lot of competition most especially many customers prefer the talents of "gay" fashion designers. It also means you have to invest in some money.I'm not discouraging you, this is just the reality I experienced myself. But you can still do what you love by first offering to do services for friends and neighbors. Sometimes even for free. The important thing is that news about your talent will spread by word of mouth. And people will start referring you to potential customers. Good luck!

Sorry and this is not what you want to hear; but you already stand out. You have no experience, no qualifications and no training. Now why on earth with all the young people coming up from a fashion training and college background would they choose someone approaching middle age who clearly has some sort of issues. I am so sorry sweet heart, but fashion is so very, very competitive and your problems will prevent you from progressing in anything until you deal with them. Why not try making your designs up in to real clothes and trying to sell them?
