My First Interview!?

First Ever Interview?

  • Hi All My name is Jody and I am 20 years old. I was wondering whether any of you could help me with advise for an interview I have on Wednesday. I have applied for a position with a French Bank in London as a Junior Clerk. I have never had an interview before and was wondering how I should dress for the interview. I am advised that I am one of 6 applicants attending on Wednesday and that we will all have a one on one interview followed by lunch and then some practical tests. I guess this will be to see how we work as a team etc. As there are so many parts to this interview I was wondering how I should present myself. I was also wondering whether it was correct to take off my jacket (if i wear one) if it gets hot or during the lunch or practical tests. Does anyone know what is the correct thing to do. As this is my first ever interview I am extremely nervous and don't want to present myself in a bad light. Thanks Jody

    Dress as simple as possible, if you have a jacket on to be formal don't unless its required by the letter of interview you received. Wear simple basic clothes, clean, unwrinkled, wear flats, slacks or skirt, white blouse/shirt with long sleeves, keep jewelry simple don't wear a lot, if you have piercings don't add;if you have tattoos cover them, fresh looking makeup, clean hair simply arranged. Be attentive to the interviewer not the other applicants, they aren't going to give you a job.

Hi Jody! i would suggest you to put on formal clothes- shirts, pants. make sure that your footwear matches your attire. i would also suggest you not to put on excessive make up- just upto required level. do use a perfume/deo, but please do not overspray it. make sure that your hair is nealty done. if you wear earrings, they should not be big 'danglers'. small earring would do, or simple studs would also do the job. may god bless you with a successful career.

This is in itself an interview, everytime I am here and answer questions is a perfect example of interview with multiple people. I can say I am more myself in the written word because there are people who are more convenient expressing themselves in the written word rather than in the spoken word. Before I submit my answer I always read it twice to examine the words if it is based on truth or wether will it be beneficial to the person receiving it.
