How does my boss always know if I come to work on time if hes not there when I am?
-
I start work at 2:00 and both of my supervisors dont start until 3:00 but I always do get to work on time anyway because I know someone will be watching me and taking notes of my performance. I act like they are really there so I can have trust. But do the supervisors in the daylight shift I dont know well, do they usually tell the supervisor who is on time and whos not? How does my supervisor know that I am always on time anyway if he isnt there to witness it?

Time cards, gossip, camera's, gossip, maybe someone is taking notes. Any way you look at it they're gonna find out. It seems the best way to deal with it just to get there on time, and if you don't tell a supervisor so you get honesty points. At least that's how I would deal with it.

The day supervisors probably don't spy on you, but word always gets around in the office what time you usually get in. It usually get around in the form of gossip, people will start talking about you, or they might say something in passing to your supervisor. People get jealous when others come in late.

Where I used to work, the access card keys left a computerized record of our comings and goings from the office. My bosses knew when everybody arrived at work and who typically worked late. People also complain if you are not doing your fair share of the work.

If you have a ID that gives you access to the building, they may monitor the access reports; get a report when you log into your computer; and/or there's a snitch.
