Are there any good Virgin Mobile deals on minutes?

Christians, besides promises from the Bible, what are some deals you've had that sounded too good to be true?

  • Also, how did they turn out? Were they actually amazingly good deals for you? I've got to tell you, I've been offered some pretty sweet deals by princes from Nigeria and real estate people trying to unload their excess foreclosed properties for as little as $100. And just this morning some guy was trying to get me to makes some type of deal that could get me eternal life and all it would take was a few minutes of my time to listen to his spiel. But I just can't bring myself to go ahead and trust deals like that.

    Most people have the misperseption that once you become a believer, life is all roses and sweet. God isn't a cosmic vending machine. Christians still retain all the human qualities that make us human including the stuff that makes us not so sweet. The promise,however, comes in that God will never leave or forsake us and we will never be alone. People think that Christians, once "saved" are all of a sudden beyond having human sized issues. That's what I think makes people so dissolutioned with faith... However, Jesus never promised that we would never have problems or difficulties, 2Timothy 3:12 says "In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted," that's not really such a sweet deal when you are going through it. Millions of Christians are martyred every year in "hostile" and "restricted" countries. But it is in the reward, the being faithful that makes it all worthwhile.

Interesting question. Very seldom do I ever hear an atheist on Y!A suggest that salvation would be a good deal. Usually, atheists write as if salvation were something so distasteful they wouldn't accept it even if they believed it was real. It makes you wonder how many atheists here secretly wish it were true.
