What are good microphones for vlogging?

Spiritually Vlogging: Does anyone know about computer microphones?

  • Hey R&S, I'm asking on here because there are a lot of extremely intelligent people on R&S all the time, and I'll probably get more answers more quickly. (Hey I'm an atheist god IS convenience amirite? LoL kidding...) I want to start a video log to document some big changes coming up in my life and it occurs to me that the microphone installed on my laptop isn't working. When I go to use it I get a fuzzy electronic "click" followed by silence, followed by another "click" when I stop using it. Does anybody have any advice for me? I promise I'll pick a BA this time so if you know what to do, or even if my mic is totally shot just let me know, it's an easy ten points for you. Thanks! *hugz* to you all Sea Kittress ^_^ (Kaila)

My Laptop has a Jack on the front so that you can plug a hand held microphone into it ... You will need to go to Radio Shack and buy a mic that has the same size plug as is on your laptop. You did not tell me which operating system you are using ... most people use windows xp .... look in your system tray ... right click on the little grey speaker .... click on adjust properties ... try test button on the appropriate folder ... Probably if you take your laptop with you the Computer Geek behind the counter will help you through it all ... I hope that helped .... Fundie moron hillbilly at your service lol..... Marantha
