Is creationism taught in schools?

Creationists are you sure you want Creationism taught in public schools?

  • I assume you want Christian Creationism taught in public schools, yes? But do we not live in a country with freedom of religion and separation of church and state? So then if we are to acknowledge the Constitutional rights of all Americans of all religions if Creationism is taught as scientific fact then wouldn't we also have to teach the Creation stories of all major religions as well as the pagan and Wiccan Creation stories? If your Creation story were taught every other one would be given the same time and be taught as having the same level of credibility as your religion. If you want Christian Creationism taught then would you also want the Creation stories of other religions taught? And if not what would your argument be for why only Christian Creationism should be taught? The black atheist has spoken. Fireball and all those people that agreed with her: So you want the public school sytem to teach every religion's Creation story instead of evolution? Because if they teach yours they have to teach all of them and give them the same amount of teaching time. And I do think that it's possible that Creation happened, but I find it very unlikely especially since modern science is beginning to prove the Bible's story (But who knows? If ther is an all-powerful supreme being he can mess around and ignore natural laws). Oliver: Because the scientific community has done research, experimentation, and such and have believe that theis theory is the closest they can get the truth as of yet. Did you know there are people who believe that WWII and the moon landing were fakes? And yet we teach those at school, which appeals to some people and not others. The public school curriculum has to teach the things that historians and scientists have reached a consensus on, otherwise there would be no standards for learning. TheMadProffesor: I've always liked the North African Creation story. God made men out of clay and put them in the ofven to cook, but the first batch cooked to long and was too dark so he sent them upriver (south to Sub-Saharan Africa)). He was anxious about the next batch and took them out too early and they were white, he sent the down river (north to Europe). The last batch was perfect and golden brown and he let them stay where they were.

  • Answer:

how about we just ban creationism and make it illegal? I bet you the kids at school would score higher grades in their classes if they weren't taught about creationism. Kids at school need to learn more about evolution and shouldnt pay attention to mythical fairy tales such as creationism.

They don't care about Separation of Church and State. If they did, this argument would never have been made. All they care about is converting the world to their system of beliefs, and by any means necessary. While they don't seem to recognize the law of Separation of Church and State, they are more than willing to exploit their right to free speech, even if they are lying.

They can teach their unfortunate children their ridiculous hypothesis of Creationism at home. When their children get into the real world and they realize they're the only ones who believe in such ridiculous crap, they'll feel like idiots thanks to their loving but stupid parents.

Christian organizations are tax-exempt. If they want to shove their righteous noses into secular affairs, that should be ended immediately.

I would prefer Math, English, History, and REAL Science be taught in school. Instead of the useless agenda driven crud they teach including evolution. Everything from Social consciousness to evolution are being focused on and our kids reach high school so tragically under prepared with the knowlege they REALLY need that they are dropping out and failing at alarming rates. The liberal agenda is killing our kids hope and future I will teach my kids creation
