I need help simplifying a rational expression.

Simplifying Complex Rational Expression??? Help Please!?

  • I know this is probably not as complex as I make it out to be but I cant find the right anwser and I need to have the correct for a test. Simplify: 1/6 - 1/y Divided by 6-y/6 Hope the format of how this is set up makes sense.. its basically the two first fractions over the third.. Thanks!I will be sure to vote a best anwser

    (1/6 - 1/y)/((6-y)/6) =(1/6 - 1/y)* =(y-6)/6y * 6/(6-y) =(y-6)/y * 1/(6-y) =-(6-y)/y * 1/(6-y) = -1/y * 1 = -1/y
