    Because so far, your tests account for 9/17 of your grade and your classwork accounts for 8/17 of your grade. (77.5 * 9 + 97.63 * 8) / 17 When the EOCT is added in, your tests will count for 9/20, classwork for 8/20, and EOCT for 3/20. If you make a 0 on the EOCT: (77.5 * 9 + 97.63 * 8 + 0*3) / 20 Then your final grade will be: 73.93 If you get a perfect: (77.5 * 9 + 97.63 * 8 + 100 * 3)/20 Then your final grade will be: 88.93 So there you go. The best grade you're going to get is an 89% (a very respectable B+)

(77.5 x 0.45) + (97.63 x 0.40) that will get 85% of your grade (like getting 73.927 out of 85) divide it by 0.85 to get 86.97 after taking the EOCT, instead of dividing by 0.85, they'll just add the EOCT worth the last 15% of your grade
