Help on an elimination problem in algebra?
-
I have an algebra problem: You have a coin collection of nickels and dimes. You have 22 coins worth $1.70. How many of each coin do you have? Solve using elimination. I set up the system like this: n + d=22 5n + 10d=1.70 I changed the first problem to: -10n + -10d=-220 but when i tried adding the two and solving the problem i kept getting weird negative answers. Can someone solve it and tell me what they got?
