If I had 2000 gallons on water, how many cubic feet would that be?
-
I'm in middle school, and in my human sexuality class, we watched a movie about the whole body. Our homework is to present 3 or more facts from the movie so that people will remember the facts. My sister went to the same school 8 years ago and had the same assignment so her presentation used the fact "the lips are the most sensitive part of the body" and she took apart an Operation game and so when you touched the lips with the tweezers, it buzzed. My fact is "In one day, your heart pumps 2000 gallons of blood". So, I need to know how many cubic feet that would be. Thank you I appreciate it.

I think it would be hard for your class to visualize the number of cubic feet. But have you ever seen the 55 gallon barrels that trucks haul around? (the ones about 2-1/2 feet across and 4 feet high). 2000 gallons would be about 40 of those barrels ( actually 36-1/3) 1 gallon = 0.133680555 cubic feet 2000 * 0.13368055 = 267.361 cubic feet.

The easiest way to do this is to 1) convert your non-metric units into metric, 2) do the conversion in metric, and then 3) convert back to non-metric units. 1) 1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liters 2000 US gallons = 7570.8 liters 2) 1 liter = 1000 cc 7570.8 liters = 7570800 cc 3) 1 cc = 3.53146667 × 10-5 cubic feet 7570800 cc = 267.3 cubic feet

2000 gallons is 267.361111 cubic feet (approximately). It isn't a very clean transition from US gallons (assuming that's what you're using) to cubic feet, but this is fairly close.

Roughly 7.48 gallons in 1 cu. ft. 2000/ 7.48= about 267.38 cu.ft.

2000 gallons = 267.361 ft³
