Why nasa keeps sending robotic brobes to mars and not getting the correct answers of mars ?

I iamgine that they are finding more than they are telling us.. They are keeping all the best stuff for themselves !! This is the way the gummint operates... they have to keep us stupid and easy to control, see ?

We already know Mars has water. We've known that for a while. It can't survive in liquid form on the surface due to the low pressure. We want to know a lot more about Mars, and that's why we're sending probes. It's quite clear you really don't know what you're talking about with respect to these missions. What exactly do you think that money is doing? Sitting on Mars? It's employing easily 100,000 Americans.

My answer? You have unrealistic ideas of what a remote probe on a planet millions of miles away can really do. You have probably watched Star Trek, or Stargate, or some other fantasy story and are confused between what imaginary science and what real science can accomplish. A probe to Mars can't find something that isn't there, for one thing. There are not pointy-headed martians hiding behind a big rock, and a rover isn't even trying to look behind those rocks to find them. The probes we have sent have mapped the surface of Mars, have analyzed the rocks and soil and have sent back beautiful pictures of a cold, desolate world. What more can be done?

NASA is in the business of sending spacecraft to Mars and other planets. This is serious science on an international level. Look at the suite of instruments carried by Cusiosity - spectrometers, detectors of all manner of radiation to study minerals and geology, weather instruments for climate study, all things "hard science" are there. Science and technology needs popular support in order to advance. Cutting edge science is very expensive these days. In order to encourage support by the taxpaying public, NASA has to emphasise the "human element" of what it does. That's why you see all those glam shots of astronauts, and people's names (like mine and thousands of others) are written to a chip and sent to Mars with Curiosity. NASA has chosen to encourage a belief in the possibility of life in space, hoping that this will generate popular interest in it's missions. In my opinion this is a big mistake. No life will be found. No life exists there. People will (like yourself) be frustrated, disappointed and angry at the constant stream of negative results. This is not good for NASA. Curiosity is a marvel of technology. Despite popular opinion it is not being sent on a two and a half billion dollar mission to look for space boogiemen. It is being sent to further our knowledge of our solar system and thereby help us understand our own planet. It also trials new technologies that will be of benefit here on Earth. It is a pity that NASA does not emphasise this instead of fantasy. Cheers!

In mathematical terms, because n is too small; not enough samples. There have been only 5 sites on Mars that have been explored by landers (Vikings 1 & 2, the two Mars rovers, and the Phoenix lander). If you landed probes on 5 places on Earth, you wouldn't understand Earth either. There are places on Earth that are essentially abiotic. Another factor: NASA haven't sent up the right equipment. If there's life on Mars, it's most likely to be underground, so you need a good drill (hopefully the just launched MSL will have success in this regard). However, NASA does not want to fly, for no good reason, an advanced version of the experiment that arguably detected life on Vikings 1 and 2. Too bad, it would've been a cheap addition to the MSL.

We are holding onto the hope that we can establish an outpost, and eventually colonies, on Mars. Without water and germs, this is not possible as we would need something like an algae to produce oxygen, and without water and germs, algae wouldn't grow. Also, without water, life ANYWHERE is impossible. The other reason we keep sending probes to space is for the possibility of resources. We want to mine titanium, bauxite, and other rare / expensive metals from it, and we need proof that the soil and rocks contain it before we would spend the money to mine it. As for your complaint about wasting money, I don't want to be morbid, but with the untold trillions of dollars every day we spend on the warfare that will decimate this world, we need and escape. NASA's program costs a couple billion per year, we spend hundreds of billions a month on making bombs.
