Earths magnetic field?

-
Answer:
The solar wind from the Sun is magnetically charged and gets directed to the North and South poles of the Earth by its magnetic field. They then slam into the atmosphere and glow, causing the famous auroras (the Northern & Southern lights, or Aurora Borealis (N) and Aurora Australis (S)).
