Do you think there is life out there on other planets or galaxies?

Answer:
There's a very good chance there's life out there somewhere; life on Earth took hold almost as soon as it could, so life could be common. However, life on Earth took billions of years to get past the bacteria stage and only in the last few million developed intelligence, so it's possible that's much more rare than just life in general.

yes. it's (factually) FAR more probable that there is life somewhere else than not, considering the size of the universe. I mean, how can we say that there isn't life anywhere else when we don't even know what all is at the bottom of our own ocean? people relate the word "alien" with little green one-eyed creatures that we've witnessed for years in our media. a lot of people don't realize that an alien could be something as small as a little insect or bacteria on another planet. how does that not sound completely possible? it baffles me that we can believe the stories in the bible yet we can't believe in something as probable as life somewhere else. proof that humans really do believe that they're the center of the damn universe. in the universe's time, human beings will have only been around for a split second.

I'm curious. Why does there "have to be". Why CAN'T we be "the only ones". There is no law of physics, chemistry, biology or anything else which states that there "has to be" other life anywhere except on Earth. Yet for some bizarre reason, there are those who are convinced there "has to be" life elsewhere. Is it just the bleating of desperation? Why cant we be "the only ones"? After all, we have searched for life elsewhere, and for other suitable planets and found precisely none. SETI spent over 2 MILLION YEARS of computer time searching for signals from space and found nothing. The Kepler mission has searched over one hundred thousand stars and has found no convincing evidence of planetary systems stable enough to support life. So why cant we be the only ones. The evidence is telling us that we are alone. I think the bleating of "we cant be the only ones" is the bleating of denial. If we open our minds, and tear ourselves away from the hysteria channel, the evidence is overwhelming that indeed, we ARE alone. Pomposity and moronic thinking is that which is convinced it must be right, despite all evidence to the contrary. Cheers!

It's not so much 'a little pompus' to assume there is none, as much as it's completely moronic. Given what we already know about the size of the universe, the odds of ours being the only populated planet are unquantifyably long. Sadly, the odds of us ever encountering them are also pretty poor. Unless we stumble upon some MAJOR advances in technology reasonably soon.

I think it's a little pompous to assume we are the only ones. Just because our technology can only go so far and has only discovered so much, it doesn't mean there isn't much much more beyond what we can see.

Given the many millions of galaxies that exist, there could be humanoid beings like us. There is evidence that Mars had life on it, as there are traces of ruined cities, and pyramids.

None has been found yet, but it may still be found in the future - not much of space has been explored yet.
