How can my friend be an extra in a movie?

  • hi there, my friend is only 14 and she wants a job... obviously not many places hire at the age of 14... about a year back she took acting classes with a.t.c so she had the idea of being a movie extra.... so i guess what i'm trying to ask is what can she do to apply to be an extra in a movie even at the age of 14...what do you suggest...honestly

    craigslist and most jobsites have postings all the time. From what I've heard you basically get put on a LONG list and only maybe get called. My suggestion, this is not a good route if she's looking to get into acting. Try looking for auditions, even if just for community theater or student films. If films or videos, always ask for a copy then make a reel and publish it online. But most of all, just audition for it.
