How does a recording studio work?

What is a recording studio.. and how exactly do they work?

• Me and a friend of mine want to record ourselves in a professional recording studio.. but i need the basics of a studio. Do you have to bring your own instruments? Do they add the music themselves? This is all really confusing. Can someone please lay down the guidelines? Thanks so much! - Destiny. we don't play instruments.. do they still mix the music? so recording studios do NOT add the music to your voice singing if you do not have a band or any instruments?

  Well playa if you are a band then you bring your own instruments but if you rap/sing,then you need a producer to make the beats fo da track *****....its kindaaa confusin homie but you have to pay like $90 for 5 hours or sumfin like dat man...me and my homie r gna do dat ****...but no money g....hope i helped dawg...
