How can I get into the film industry?

How can i get into the film industry?

  • i'm still at school and lately i have been thinking about what careers i would like to choose. I am currently studying for igcse in art,latin,french and history and all the other compulsary subjects. however i would really like a job working as a director or producer for films but i am not sure what subjects or options i should be taking. i have done a 1 day short film course and made a short movie but where do i go from there? all help greatly appreciated! :) thanks

    You should be watching all the great films of the past century - they're great to see even if you don't want to be in film. Also, keep making your own shorts if you want to direct. Just team up with friends and buy even a used camcorder. Then, go to film school (lots of great ones to choose from, but make it a real university, not a film-only program). You'll have to move out to Los Angeles someday if you really want to work in the industry. Good luck!
