Celebrity Look-a-like issue?

• I'm hoping that this entire question does not come off as pretentious as it feels to me... So... what is the protocol for being a celebrity look alike? As in, you get stopped in the street and have had people ask you for your autograph type of celebrity look alike. Apparently I'm the approximate blond hair and blue eyes version of Emma Watson. She cut her hair recently, so some of the being stopped on the street has stopped, but honestly I can say that once every two days someone stops me and talks to me and I'm not really sure what to do. Once they hear I'm american, they're usually pretty chill but I live in London (I'm an American student studying design here) so sometimes the situation is very awkward. I lost about 20 pounds recently since I started playing sports again and since then I've been getting a LOT more hermione/emma comments than I used to, and I don't quite know how to handle it. My mom had always said that I looked like her, and my kiddie pictures are insanely close to ones of her from early HP days. Oh, I have wavy/curly hair. That's a treat. I used a straightener on my hair EVERY DAY in middle school and high school specifically because of the Hermione teasing I was getting. Thoughts?

  As a pro celebrity double for 9 years, I can report that many (most?) of us had similar experiences to those you report and initially had no idea what to do about it. The first step is to use your search engine to find the many lookalike and tribute booking agencies and send them some GOOD images of yourself in character to see if there is any interest or potential for you. The industry has a few rogues so be cautious which agent/agents you register with and NEVER pay to register with any agency or "referral network". Any legitimate agent will assess your potential and take you on without any up front payment as they will make their commission and profit from finding you work, not from putting your photo on their web site alongside all the "wannabes" they make their living from charging "registration fees". This little niche within show business is great fun and can lead to TV, feature films and other prestige assignments in newspapers and high profile magazines. It can be quite well paid if you work at the craft and get the look, voice, mannerisms and body language spot on and have the personal and unique star quality and confidence to project a larger than life and entertaining persona of your own making.
