Isn't it sad to see what Music is classed as "Good" nowadays and what artists are "talented"?

I feel the same way as you do, as well as Andy (the third answerer). It is overproduced, digitally corrupted, and most of it sounds like a bunch of frickin' robots singing. I listen to country music from the late 70's up through the early 90's. That was back when artists actually had to have talent to enter the music business (at least country). They were middle-aged people who could sing and play instruments, as well as write meaningful songs (not teenybopper crap about boys dumping them in high school). They could record the song in one or two takes, using real instruments, all in-sync with each other. Those days are long gone. I don't even listen to the radio anymore, because there's nothing on but garbage on every station. I have over 2000 country MP3 songs from the 70's and 80's, and I just listen to those in my car. I'm 17 years old, by the way.

Yes It's extremely sad to see what the music industry has become! I guess most people, but not all don't know what real music is, so they listen to all the mainstream music that everyone is listening to!

Because those artists = $. They are marketed toward certain target groups for $. I'm not really in the know in current mainstream these days.. I mean I have a general idea, cuz I am 22, but like I just heard about that beiber kid yesterday. Just proves Anyone can get rich and famous these days.. Just gotta have face.. Well actually.. Not even.. Cuz there are some ugly *** ppl in hollywood these days.. Anyway.. Rambling.. Find what music stimulates ur soul and run with it. Or make ur own music and make a difference.. But in the end, all music is beautiful. If at least one persons dancin to it.

I didn't know these were considered good and talented, on the other hand it seems to me that it is pop music that receives most stick. You say that this is not good for children, but if a child listen to rap with a lot of swear words and explicit content, you would complain too. Nobody is forcing you to listen to it. Oh and about the record companies making money--you know, they kind of have to, otherwise they'd go bankrupt, or am I not getting it?
