What are some Ceramics Techniques?

High School Ceramics Class? HELP?! (10pts)?

• I'm not artistic at ALL, and find it difficult to be creative at times. However, I have to choose 4 electives plus their alternates, and I don't have many choices to choose from. It's just an intro course, but i'm worried it's not going to be right for me and i'll end up stressed.. The good thing that can come out of this, though, is that it'll enable me to take photography next year as it can act as a prerequisite. Should I take the course? Will Ceramics be difficult for me? If it helps, here's the course description: This course introduces students to the four basic hand-building techniques, various decorating and glazing techniques as well as the use of the potter’s wheel. Students will design and create original pieces of pottery and will study selected topics in the history of ceramics related to the studio projects. most helpful answer=best answer. thanks in advance!

  Stop by the art room and see samples of current work. You probably will be amazed at the variety of work done, and remember it is a beginning class, learning basic steps, not producing world class projects. Ask students if they are 'enjoying it' or are intimidated by the work expected.
